FRICTION TEST

A high-quality helideck surface is crucial for any helicopter operations at offshore platforms. Friction Test is a method where a qualified operator will do the testing on the helideck surface to identify the surface friction value and further decides if the surface is fit for a safe operation based on the data collected. This testing shall be carried out with specific equipment that will meet the testing criteria outlined in CAP437 and CAD 1406 Vol II (For helideck operation in Malaysia Waters).

SYLMAX HCS is utilising the helideck Micro GripTester® manufactured by Findlay Irvine Ltd. which is widely used throughout the globe. Our operator’s trainers are trained at the manufacturer’s factory in Penicuik, Scotland.
